Eaglestone Capital
Portfolio Manager
Fred Stupart founded Eaglestone Capital following a 20 year career working in the capital markets as a lawyer, private equity investor and a banker. Most recently he worked at Morgan Stanley in New York during the tumultuous 2009 - 2012 period which saw violent price movements in U.S. securities in response to a debt crisis in Europe, dysfunction in Washington and a downgrade of U.S. sovereign credit.
Looking for US investment opportunities, he compared the historical records of private real estate, private equity, leveraged loans and public equities. He determined that U.S. public equities offered by far the highest returns over the past decade. Determined to build out a business offering low cost, high quality public equity investment opportunities to investors who shared his focus on quality companies, he formed Eaglestone Capital.
Fred has an MBA from The Wharton School, a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and a BA(Hons) Economics from Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario. He has won numerous awards. At The Wharton School he was on the Director's List for academic achievement and won the Robert E. Linneman Memorial Fellowship. At Queen's University he graduated with the highest cumulative GPA in Economics, winning the Gold Medal.
